Celebrate Vesuvius Day with us while learning about what makes a volcano errupt. Students will get to participate in a simulated volcanic erruption while talking about Mt. Vesuvius and other volcanoes around the world.

Did you know that tie-dye has been used for centuries all over the world by different culture groups?! Learn about this history of tie-dye and create your own masterpiece! Each student will be provided a MMNH shirt to tie dye, and is invited to bring an extra article of clothing to dye themselves. This class will last approximately an hour and a half

Paul Barding's "In the Steps of Darwin"

Join us for this incredible presentation on the birds and wildlife of the Galapagos Islands! Paul Barding, a biologist and zoologist, began birding and documenting the Galapagos Islands, where Charles Darwin studied, in 2000. This presentation will showcase photographic documentation and a presentation of the wildlife that Barding encountered on his voyages in Darwin's footsteps.
This presentation will last approximately 45 minutes - 1 hour.

Registration Required by September 20

Students will learn how we cleaned up after the 2010 Gulf of Mexico oil spill, and observe how these clean-up techniques work in the natural environment. Each student will get hands-on and be an active participant! This class was planned by National Geographic and will be conducted by the Midwest Museum of Natural History. This class will last approximately an hour and a half
