Home School Field Trip Day

No matter what size your group is call now to sign up for this field trip especially for home school students. Animal Myth, Legend, and Folklore; museum tour, and animal show.

Have a Heart!

Kids Science Series

Terry Martin of Kishwaukee College will teach about our heart.   Listen to a program about the scientific mechanics of the human heart and what makes for a healthy one. Every child will create a model of a four chamber heart, and have an opportunity to examine and hold some real hearts as well.

Valentine's Tea

Museum Pride! event

Celebrate Valentine's Day with a special tea at the museum.  Enjoy delicious treats and make a valentine to share with a loved one--or leave at the museum for one of our animals! This event is designed for our Museum Pride group, ages 62 and better, but everyone is welcome. Funding for Museum Pride paid for in part by a grant from the Mary E Stephens Lecture Fund.

President's Day Activities

The museum will be open on President's Day and we'll be celebrating with fun activities all afternoon! Join us for a patriotic craft project 12-2:00, storytime at 2:00, and an animal visit at 3:00.

Sunday Science Series: Origins

Two major types of primates have been documented from the beginning of the Eocene (55 million years ago): wet-nosed primates and dry-nosed primates. Dr. Gebo will discuss the origin of primates and its significance in primate evolution today.
